Long Island Man Turns Home Into Sanctuary For 300 Cats
He's made it his life mission to rescue cats.

A Long Island man has turned his home into a sanctuary for over 300 cats.
Chris Arsenault, of Coram, has made it his life's mission to rescue cats by turning his home into the Happy Cat Sanctuary.
"They're here to live their lives out," Arsenault told INSIDER. "They all came from different places and they all have different stories."

Arsenault said it took him three years to build the entire sanctuary, which is designed to give enough space for triple the amount of cats he has.
After his son died in a motorcycle accident in 2006, Arsenault was working as a conductor on the New Jersey Transit when he found a box of 30 sick kittens on the side of the tracks. He brought them home and nursed them back to health.
