• Hope House Ministries will hold an overdose prevention training seminar. Participants will learn how to administer Narcan. Friday, 6 p.m. at Hope House Ministries.

• Shop for local produce at the Port Jefferson Farmers Market Sunday morning from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the Lanie’s Way parking lot.

• Engineer your own water filtration system on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Maritime Explorium.

Benefit

• The St. Charles Hospital Auxiliary will hold its annual outdoor crafts fair on Sunday at 9 a.m. in the St. Charles Hospital parking lot.

• Learn how How Karma Colors Our World at the Dipamkara Meditation Center on Sunday at 10:30 a.m.

Miller Place-Rocky Point

Family

• The St.Joan of Arc Council of the Knights of Columbus is sponsoring a Youth Soccer Challenge competition in cooperation with the New York Cosmos. All boys and Girls age 10-14 are invited to participate in the local level of competition. Sat. from  from 9-5 at Mt. Sinai Middle School.

Fundraiser

• There will be an Open Mic and Bake Sale on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Mt. Sinai Congregational Church.

• Enjoy music by Richard Rabatin's Whiskey Rebellion and the Skid Row Horns and dancing at a fundraising party to benefit the Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa Research Association and kickoff fundraising to build the Honey House, a portable medical treatment unit for Brian Ilg, an 8 year old born with this blistering skin disorder.

• Take a Koga class Saturday morning at the Heritage Center in Mount Sinai.

• Sachem Cheerleading Fundraiser. Head over to the Farmingville Subway sandwich shop on Horseblock Road on Saturday at 9 a.m. to help support the Sachem Cheerleading program. Proceeds go toward helping the team compete in the Nationals every year.
• Yard Sale Fundraiser. Help support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society at this yard sale/fundraiser scheduled for Saturday at 9 a.m. The sale is being held at 32 Williams Avenue in Holtsville.

Patchogue

Film

• Film: The Bling Ring. Head over to the Plaza Cinema and Media Arts Center tonight for a screening of “The Bling Ring” by famed director Sophia Coppola. The Bling Ring is about a gang of teenagers who conspire to burglarize celebrities’ homes in Los Angeles. Based on real events. Friday: 7:30 p.m.

• Hops Picking Party. Head over to the Brickhouse Brewery for a Hops Picking Party, where you get to help hand-pick the new season’s beers at the Main Street microbrewery. Sunday: 1 p.m.

Fundraiser

• Scott Giammatteo of Boy Scout Troop 184 in Sayville will be having a car wash at the Sayville Fire Department on Sunday, September 15 between noon and 4 p.m. to raise funds for his Eagle Scout Project.

• A Beth Moore simulcast will be held Saturday, September 14 at 9 a.m. at the New Life Community Church, 380 Lakeland Avenue, Sayville.
