- Omicron variant is canceling holiday plans for tons of travelers - but it didn’t do much damage to holiday shopping. Lots of flights were canceled on Christmas weekend but shoppers shrugged off the omicron variant, and holiday sales rose at the fastest pace in 17 years, according to one spending measure. (News12)
- Port Jefferson’s Charles Dickens Festival has come to a close for this year, with amazing plans already being made for the 26th celebration in 2022. Sadly, Santa’s Workshop, will not be returning. The historic Phillips Roe House, aka the Drowned Meadow House located on the corner of Barnum Avenue and West Broadway, which has played host to the workshop all these years, is officially becoming a year-round museum. - Port Jefferson Comsewogue Public Library, will show a series of holiday movies from Dec. 27 to Dec. 30 at 2 p.m. Join them for Elf on Dec. 27, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation on Dec. 28, It’s a Wonderful Life on Dec. 29 and Miracle on 34th Street on Dec. 30. - Firefighters fought a blaze at a Miller Place home on Christmas Eve. The fire started in the garage of a home on Sweetgum Lane just after 2 p.m., police said, police is now investigating. No injuries were reported. (Patch)

- "Crab House offers both online orders and dine-in services at the Suffolk County location in Coram. The restaurant is located at 3720 NY-112. The menu includes oysters, shrimp baskets served with fries, clam chowder, gumbo, and much more". (Daily Voice)
- No flights have been canceled at the Long Island airport Monday, but American Airlines, which goes in and out of MacArthur, has now been added to a growing list of airlines that is experiencing staffing shortages due to a surge in COVID-19 infections. (News 12)
