- A plan to enforce statewide mask mandate is on the make. Part of the plan is to create “spot checks” to help to enforce mask usage at certain businesses. Dr. David Battinelli of Northwell Health says wearing masks will prevent transmission of the virus and the Omicron variant is much more transmissible than Delta variant. (News12)
- Businesses in Port Jefferson will be together in making Christmas week brighter on Wednesday, Dec. 22., with the the Village's very first Santa Con. From 7-10 p.m., restaurants will be offering drink specials, giveaways and much more. (Greater Long Island)
- Elijah Riley from Port Jefferson left the New York Jets game against the Miami Dolphins on a stretcher in a major injury scare. Reports said he avoided a possible catastrophic spine or neck injury and is currently doing well. Riley was hurt during the third quarter of the game on the field at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. - Bagel shops and bakeries across the North Shore are having difficult in getting cream cheese. The main reason is that the price of the product has increased over the last few weeks. David Prestia, owner of Bagel Express in Setauket, said his deals with several distributors have been slightly affected by the shortage. (TBRNews)
