- A family from Port Jefferson was about to pay $15,000 to bail their son out of jail for an allegedly serious traffic violation. Later on, the Vigliarilo family discovered it was a scam. Two callers identified themselves as public defenders who needed the payment to start the legal process. Finally, they contacted their son, who was safely at home. Read the whole story here. - The Jazz Loft beats drums in various events celebrating Black History Month. There will be live performances, art exhibits and wine tasting. A live performance with mandolin player Buddy Merriam of Sound Beach on Feb. 24, along with an art exhibit with all jazz mementos. - Port Jefferson Theatre Three features Dorothy's Adventures In Oz from Feb. 22- March 18! Most presentations will be held at 11 a.m. The good news is tickets are just $10 per person! It should be mentioned a sensory-sensitive performance is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 26, at 11 a.m. (Theatre Three)
