Here are the top three stories in Port Jefferson today:

1. The Leapfrog Group recognized Port Jefferson Mather Hospital as a Grade "A" Hospital. The recognition means that the institution is excellent at keeping patients safe from preventable errors and harm. (TBR News Media)
   
2. Three people were killed in a single-vehicle crash on Nicholls Road. The driver lost control of the vehicle leaving the roadway and crashing into the woods. Sadly, all occupants were pronounced dead at the scene. Click on the link to read the whole story. (Patch)
