- Theatre Three announced the 24th Annual Festival of One Act Plays is set for Feb. 25. The festival will run through March. The events will be held at the Ronald F. Peierls Theatre. You can visit here to access the full schedule and to purchase tickets. (Broadway World)
- Vietnam Veteran Edward Perkowski is suing Brookhaven Town after being forced to move out of his rental house in Mount Sinai. Perkowski said the incident started when his son was arrested for weapon possession in 2016. At the time of the arrest, officials allegedly threatened to arrest Perkowski also if he tried to return to the house. According to him, cash, a watch and other personal belongings went missing during the removal process. (Newsday/Subscription Required)
- Port Jefferson's Building & Planning Department building will be closed to the public each Wednesday to allow the digitalization project and permit applications. If you need to contact the department in urgent situations, call 631-473-4733. (Port Jefferson Village Center)
- Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele Jr. criticized Stony Brook officials for allegedly not developing the Southampton campus property. In a recent statement to Newsday, Thiele called the university "the biggest slumlord on the East End.” In response to that, Stony Brook University released a note addressing the institution's plans to extend the campus with future arts and science programs. - Port Jefferson Free Library is hosting a public speaking workshop on Tuesday, Feb. 14, at 6:30 p.m. The program aims to help kids in grades 3-6 develop confidence in a creative and friendly environment. (PJFL)
- "A robber wielding a knife and a hammer attacked a woman in her Coram driveway and then sped away in her SUV early Saturday morning, only to be caught later in Manhattan with the help of the NYPD, Suffolk police said." (Port Jefferson Patch)
- Port Jefferson Meadow Club will host a wedding showcase on Sunday, Feb. 19, from noon to 3 p.m. Tickets are $20 per person and include food and DJ entertainment. More information can be found at the Port Jefferson Chamber Of Commerce. (PJCofC)
