Port Jefferson School For Disabled Closing

The school will close once all students are placed elsewhere.

The Maryhaven Center of Hope, a school for children and young adults with developmental disabilities in Port Jefferson, announced it will be closing in 2o2o.

The school, which lost $1.7 million last year, has 71 students ages 5 to 21, and said it will not close until all are placed elsewhere.

Forty-eight of the students are from Long Island.
