The Port Jefferson varsity girls soccer team is much improved from a season ago. The Royals are the smallest school participating in girls soccer in Section XI, but one wouldn’t know that by watching them play. Led by one of the top goalkeepers in the county, the Royals have battled in close contests against larger schools throughout the entire season and have earned their spot in the Long Island Championship game.
