  1. A pedestrian was fatally struck by two vehicles at Ocean Avenue on Sunday afternoon. A 58-year-old man from Port Jefferson Station was crossing the street around 7:30 p.m. and was hit by a Mercedes and another car. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene. (Long Island News12)
  2. The Jazz Loft in Stony Brook celebrates Black Month History with an exhibit of Louis Armstrong, Lloyd Trotman, and other Black jazz musicians! This event is set for Thursday-Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. For more information, visit thejazzloft.org. (Newsday/Subscription Required)
  3. Save the date for Port Jefferson Mather Hospital's free diabetes prevention program. A lifestyle coach will help participants with tips to change their lifestyle to prevent the disease.   • Suffolk Police had a unique rescue mission this week. Officers rescued a dog from frigid Lake Ronkonkoma on Sunday morning! Nobody knows how the puppy ended up in the water, but he was rescued safely and no injuries were reported. (News 12 Long Island)
