Here are the top four stories in Port Jefferson today:

1. This is the season to be shopping! Port Jefferson Village wants an excellent experience for those on the run to get a perfect gift to give to loved ones and to give back to the community. Shop, Sip, and Snacks will be offered by some retailers on Main Street every Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. until Dec. 21! The event is called "Wishlist Wednesdays," and details are at the Port Jefferson Chamber of Commerce. (Port Jefferson Chamber of Commerce)
2. "Eat, drink, and be merry!" Lots of spots on Long Island will host Breakfast with Santa. If you are looking forward to spending time with the family, eating a hot meal and taking photos with Santa, visit the LI News 12 guide with events in Suffolk and Nassau County. (Long Island News12)
3. Port Jefferson Festival of Trees will be hosted throughout December! You are welcome to visit thirty trees decorated by Port Jeff's local business for free. Visitations are at the Port Jefferson Village Center daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. (Port Jefferson Chamber of Commerce)
4. Heroes from the wildlife rescuers from Strong Island Animal Rescue and Smithtown Sweetbriar Nature Center helped a buck trapped on a wire fence on Quaker Path in South Setauket. The team carefully cut the mesh off and freed the poor animal on Friday at 4:30 p.m. Great teamwork to protect wildlife. (Three Village Patch)
