- Stony Brook University's Christine Vachon, artistic director for the MFA in Film program, is set to deliver the keynote address at Sundance Film Festival: London. She also spoke about the state of the film industry in this interview in advance of the film festival. (Stony Brook University News)
- Aidan Kaminska, a Stony Brook native, "unexpectedly" died this week at the age of 19. He was a star lacrosse player at UMass Amherst and majoring in communications at the school. (uinterview)
- The popular Portside Bar and Grill is set to reopen this week after a long 16 months. In February 2021, Dominick Freck, one of the owners, found the restaurant soaking wet after a snow storm caused water damage. Forced to gut the restaurant, the owners completely renovated the inside and the patio. Be sure to stop by to support this local business and check out the improvements! (Greater Long Island)
