Record Assists For Port Jefferson Senior
Volleyball player Alexa Ayotte recorded her 1,000th career assist on Oct. 14, in a home contest vs. Babylon.

Earl L. Vandermeulen High School senior Alexa Ayotte recorded her 1,000th career assist on Oct. 14, in a home contest vs. Babylon. Alexa has been a member of the varsity girls volleyball team since ninth grade and has increased her season assist total each varsity season. The accomplishment is not surprising knowing Alexa’s work ethic.

“She is a great leader and does everything necessary to help her teammates improve and perform at their best,” Athletic Director Adam Sherrard said. “I don’t think it is a coincidence that in Alexa’s junior and senior seasons, the volleyball team has had its best performance in the last 20 years. I am looking forward to Alexa adding to her assist total in the playoffs this year.”
Alexa also currently leads all of Suffolk County with 462 assists this season.
