Roots Kava & Botanical Bar Opens In Port Jefferson Village
Port Jefferson's newest bar has a twist: It serves non-alcoholic kava, a root-based brew said to have anti-anxiety properties.

PORT JEFFERSON, NY — Long Island got its first dedicated kava bar in 2020 in Patchogue Village with Island Kava, and now Port Jefferson Village has the tea-like brews on tap.
Roots Kava & Botanical Bar opened its doors on Feb. 19 at 250 E. Main St.
The kava bar serves kava drinks, brewed from the Pacific Island kava plant's roots, which have a relaxing effect on drinkers, fans of the drink say. The business also has home-made Kombucha tea.
