  1. Police are asking anyone with information on the fatal car crash involving a pickup truck on Friday morning to contact the 6th Squad at 631-854-8652. The accident happened near Canal Road at Griffin Drive. Sadly, the driver was taken to Stony Brook Hospital but was pronounced dead. (Port Jefferson Patch)
  2. A Suffolk cop brutally attacked during an operation in Medford is expected to survive. The 26-year-old officer was hooked in life support equipment at the Stony Brook Hospital. The other cop involved in the same incident is scheduled to go home on Friday. Read the whole story here. (Three Village Patch)
  3. A new bill may be passed due to George Santo's case to help prevent future office-seekers from lying. The bill proposes that candidates present their educational history and background under oath. Punishment would be given to the ones who fabricate information to be elected. (Patch)
  4. Two people were taken to a local hospital after the Port Jefferson Main Street shooting. The firing was on Wednesday night near Linden Place at approximately 7 p.m. Police did not release further information about the incident, but there were no fatal victims. (Port Jefferson Patch)
