  1. Suffolk police are working to solve Tyler Phillips' case. The teen was a fatal hit-and-run victim on Granny Road in Coram. Officials announced a checkpoint plan on Wednesday in which drivers would be checked and given a flyer to help with any information about the crash. (Port Jefferson Patch)
  2. Port Jefferson Station residents have a new spot to run for a hot coffee in the neighborhood. A Starbucks is now open at 5316 Nesconset Highway in a newly remodeled building. The shop has a drive-thru located across from ShopRite Plaza. (Greater Long Island)
  3. Port Jefferson Village Center features the "Winter Inspirations" art exhibit through Jan. 6. The Night Heron Artists put together the display that brings festive Dickens images. Visitors can stop by between 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. (Port Jefferson Village Center)
  4. Port Jefferson Ecolin Jewelers store is now open in Stony Brook Village. The jewelers started their business in Stony Brook fifty years ago to relocate to Port Jeff, where they stayed for decades. Now, the store is back in the Stony Brook area, precisely at 137 Main Street in Stony Brook Village. (LongIsland.com)
