Tragedy Turns to Opportunity For Port Jeff Orthotic
Local shares his story on how his life took a dramatic turn.

When 17-year old Marty Mandelbaum got caught in a fire in 1974, he needed extensive rehabilitation. At the time, Mandelbaum was pursuing a degree that would lead him to a possible career in architecture or engineering and during his recovery, he modified the splints that occupational therapists had made for him.
Impressed by his splints, Mandelbaum's doctors encouranged him start studying orthotics and prosthetics. He now operates ., located on Oakland Avenue in Port Jefferson.
