Trailer Catches Fire On Long Island Street

No one was injured when a contractor's trailer caught fire early Thursday morning.

A trailer caught fire on Hallock Avenue in Port Jefferson early Thursday morning.

Firefighters responded to the burning trailer, which was parked on the street and carrying a construction vehicle.

According to the Terryville Fire Department, Chief Craig Brozio separated the truck from the trailer, "saving the contractors vehicle."

"Upon the arrival of TFD Engine 1, the fire was quickly knocked down without incident," the department said. "TFD Engine 2 and members of the Port Jefferson Fire Department arrived to assist with the operation. Well done TFD and PJFD."
