  1. It's the most wonderful time of the year in Port Jefferson and also time to vote on the Holiday Window Decorating Contest! Local business pulled their Christmas decorations out to display them on their façade and you can take a stroll throughout the village to choose your favorite one! Winners will be announced in the first week of January. You can vote here. (Port Jefferson Chamber)
  2. A new project is on the horizon for reconstructing 347. The multimillion-dollar plan would add an overpass at the Nicolls Road intersection in Stony Brook. Residents interviewed by Newsday said the area is congested twice a day by students and staff of Stony Brook University, Smith Haven Mall and shoppers. (Newsday/Subscription Required)
  3. Patch has a Holiday Fire Prevention Checklist based on National Fire Prevention Association tips. Many families are busy shopping, cooking and enjoying family time by the fireplace this time of the year, but that's also when fire incidents happen more often. Visit the link to check the easy steps to keep your home safe this winter. (Patch)
  4. Today, the Port Jefferson Chamber of Commerce hosts its General Membership Holiday Party at Theatre Three. If you would like to attend, tickets can be purchased at the door for $35 per person at 7 p.m. (Port Jefferson CofC)
