1 Port Washington School Among Top Elementary Schools In NY: Niche 2018

All five elementary schools made the list in 2015 and 2016.

A Port Washington elementary school is among 36 Long Island schools that made the list of the top 100 elementary schools in New York in 2018 by Niche.com.

South Salem Elementary School, ranked No. 56, was the only school in the Port Washington Union Free School District to Make the 2018 rankings. In the 2015 and 2016 rankings, all five elementary schools made the top 100. In 2017, that number decreased to three.

Two nearby elementary schools in the Manhasset UFSD also made the list. (see rankings below.)

Eight schools in New York’s top 10 are all from Nassau County. Out of the 36 schools, 32 are from Nassau while four are from Suffolk.

Robert Seaman Elementary School in the Jericho UFSD was ranked No. 7 in the nation and No. 1 in New York. In fact, the top 3 elementary schools in New York all belong in the same school district. The top Suffolk County school on the list was Amagansett School in the Amagansett UFSD at No. 47.

The nation’s top elementary school was found to be Pine View School in Sarasota, Florida.

Fewer Long Island schools made the state rankings in 2018. Fifty elementary schools from Long Island made the rankings in 2017.
