Firefighters Save Man from Port Washington House Fire
The fire occurred Tuesday evening, officials say.

Quick-thinking firefighters rescued an elderly man from a house fire on Fairview Avenue in Port Washington Tuesday night, authorities said.
The man was pulled to safety and is expected to survive, according to officials.
First responders encountered extreme clutter known as “Collyer’s Mansion” conditions. The fire, which started in the basement, spread to the first floor. Despite the obstacles, authorities said firefighters managed to get in and pull the victim to safety.
