Farrington was also found to be involved in two attempted burglaries in Lake Success, when three other men were arrested in connection with the failed break-ins in January.

Lake Success officers responded to a home on Meadow Woods Road for an attempted burglary around 2:50 a.m. Jan. 13, police said. While heading to the home, a Lake Success marked police car collided with a blue 2021 BMW sedan that was driving away from the home, police said.

After the collision, three men — Jawaun Whitted, 22, Furquan Ahmad, 20, and Raquil Hayes, 21, — exited the car and ran off, police said. Lake Success and Nassau police searched and found the trio, arresting them without further incident, police said.

The three also tried to commit a burglary at a home on Fox Lane immediately before the Meadow Woods Road attempted break-in, police said. Officers found a loaded Glock 19 that was modified to be fully automatic inside of the blue 2021 BMW, police said.

Whitted, Ahmad and Hayes were each charged with two counts of first-degree attempted burglary and one count of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
