North Hempstead To Host Veterans Donation Drive

The fourth annual drive gives residents the opportunity to give back to veterans during the holiday season.

Residents will have the opportunity to donate personal care items, clothing and more at several locations throughout the Town of North Hempstead during the third annual Veterans Donation Drive.

Items will be gathered now through Dec. 8 and will be delivered to the Northport VA Medical Center before the holidays.

Requested items include:

  • New clothing of all types (size large and up)
  • New trial size toiletries, including: unscented body lotion, liquid body soap, unscented body lotion, hair brushes, combs, deodorant, shaving cream, nail clippers, quad track razors, toothpaste and shampoo.
  • Lap blankets (approx. 36”x 42”), powdered laundry detergent, new or gently used luggage (with wheels), plastic hangers, Forever postage stamps, phone cards and Shop & Stop gift cards.

Donations can be dropped off at:

  • Clinton G. Martin Park, located at 1601 Marcus Ave. in New Hyde Park
  • Town Hall, located at 220 Plandome Road in Manhasset
  • Michael J. Tully Park Aquatic Activity Center, located at 1801 Evergreen Ave. in New Hyde Park
  • Charles J. Fuschillo Park, located on Carle Road at Broadmoor Lane in Carle Place
  • Town Clerk's Office, located at 200 Plandome Road in Manhasset
