The town's government access TV station has been nominated for a New York Emmy Award.

The Town of North Hempstead's government access TV staton has been nominated for a New York Emmy Award for an environmental feature.
The feature, "Protecting our marine wildlife with the New York State DEC," which was directed by Alan Ginsberg, is about the state Department of Environmental Conservation's research on fish in Manhasset Bay, Little Neck Bay and Manhasset Harbor .
“It’s certainly a thrill for the Town to be nominated for an Emmy Award,” Supervisor Judi Bosworth said. “The Town is fortunate to have the DEC keeping a close watch on the fish population of Manhasset Bay. Their research is critical to helping the Town monitor the quality of our waterways and our marine life. The ride along with the DEC gives viewers a real bird’s eye view of how the DEC does their work.”
