Robert Zimmerman On Loss In CD3 To George Santos: 'Fight Does Not End'
The Democrat issued a statement after losing Congressional District 3 seat to Republican Santos: "It has been the honor of my life to run."

LONG ISLAND, NY — The Democrat candidate in Nassau's 3rd Congressional District reacted to his loss this week, one of many by Long Island Democrats this election. Robert Zimmerman, of Great Neck, conceded his loss to George Santos, calling his campaign "the greatest honor of my life."
Zimmerman, in a statement Wednesday, wrote "our dedication to mainstream values reflects the best way to make real achievements."

Zimmerman, a first-time candidate, owns a communication company, and was a political appointee under presidents Clinton and Obama.
The 68-year-old didn't announce any specific future political plans, but did say "the fight to protect our rights and our democracy from assault does not end with this election."
