Today: Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony in Manhasset
Event kicks off at 4:15 Friday at Mary Jane Davies Green.
Holiday festivities continue in North Hempstead Friday with the annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony set for 4:15 p.m. Thursday.
The event takes place at Mary Jane Davies Green, located on Plandome Road in Manhasset.
The ceremony will serve as the kickoff to the holiday season, leading up to the town's Wonder Wonderland celebration on Dec. 14 and 15 at Clark Botanic Garden.
The program will include a blessing from Rev. Dr. Pierce of the Community Church of Manhasset, and a presentation by the Manhasset Chamber of Commerce to the winners of the Christmas Tree Lighting poster contest.
