47 Brooklyn Restaurants To Participate In NYC Restaurant Week

BROOKLYN, NY — Brooklynites hoping to take a bite of the expanded NYC Restaurant Week next week will have nearly 50 options to do so in their own borough.

Mayor Bill de Blasio revealed Monday that NYC Restaurant Week, which operated only for takeout for its run earlier this year, will return this summer with five weeks of discounted meals at more than 500 restaurants across the five boroughs.

In Brooklyn, 47 eateries made the cut, a dramatic decline of the record 78 restaurants that offered deals in the borough over the winter restaurant week, but still more than in past years.

The summer restaurant week will last from July 19 until Aug. 22. Reservations opened on Monday.

"This is going to be amazing," de Blasio said. "Think about restaurants you've always wanted to go to — here's the opportunity. It's a wonderful, super restaurant week."

The 2021 summer line-up is a big increase for the number of outer-borough restaurants in past years, though the vast majority of the eateries — 412 of the nearly 530 — are still found in Manhattan.

In 2019, only 12 Brooklyn eateries made the list for restaurant week, a number so low that Brooklyn started its own tradition to highlight the borough's best eats.

For participating restaurants in all five boroughs, this restaurant week will include $21 or $39 lunch and dinner options, which each include at least one entree and one side dish.

There will also be a new $125 option called the "Signature Dining Experience," which will include three or more courses.
