5 (Free) Things: FasTrack Subway Changes and Indian Music Jam Session

Prospect Heights-area subway, alternate side and event information you won't want to miss.

 

1. You need raga. Head to  (yes, Branded Saloon) for the montly . 603 Vanderbilt Ave. at Bergen St. 8 p.m. Free. 

2. You need Americana. In that case head to  for , which this week features Noam Berg. 683 Washington Ave. bet. St. Marks and Prospect, 8 p.m. Free.

3. You need to get the kids out of the house. If you have a 3-6 year-old, head to the  for Preschool Story & Craft. Space is limited, so get there early and pick up a ticketat the Children's Reference Desk. 10 Grand Army Plaza, 2:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m. Free. See our for more options. 

4. You need to know if your train is running. During the day, probably, but between midnight and 5 a.m. Flatbush Avenue-bound 2 and 4 trains skip Bergen Street, Grand Army Plaza and Eastern Pkwy all week. In addition, due to Fastrack repairs, the B train is stopping a little earlier than usual all week, with the last train hitting 59th Street at 9:56 p.m. In addition, there will be no service of the D/F/M trains between 57th Street and 14th Street in both directions from 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., according to the MTA

5. And if you have to move your car. You do. Alternate side parking rules won't be suspended again be until Wednesday, August 15 for Feast of the Assumption. (And since Wednesdays don't help Prospect Heighters, note that the next suspension of use is on Monday, August 20 for Idul-Fitr), according to the NYCDOT.
