5 Things: Pick-Up Softball, Proust and Punch & Judy

Prospect Heights-area alternate side, subway and event information you won't want to miss.

 

1. You need to be a kid again. How about a pick-up game of softball? Head to Mount Prospect Park for , a weekly pick-up game for all ages. Bring a glove if you have one. Eastern Parkway between the Central Library and the Botanic Garden. 1 p.m. Free. 

1.5 You need to be an adult. How about reading some Proust? Hook up with the  at  tonight at 8 p.m. They're reading "In Search of Lost Time" 40 pages at a time. This is week four, so if you haven't started, your agenda for the day is set. 728 Franklin Avenue between Park and Sterling. Free.

 2. You need rock. Head to . 683 Washington Ave. bet. St. Marks and Prospect, 9 p.m. Free.

3. You need to get the kids out of the house. Head to Puppetworks' Punch & Judy show, which is only taking palce this weekend. See our weekly list of  for more options.

4. You need to know if your train is running ... It is! There are no subway changes affecting Prospect Heights stations all weekend, according to the MTA.

5. ... and if you have to move your car. Not today of course, but try to grab a Tues/Thurs spot because the next suspension isn't until Monday, Sept. 3 for Labor Day, according to the NYCDOT.
