5 Things You Need to Know: Reggae, Softball, Summer Songs and Stories and more

Prospect Heights-area events you don't want to miss.

1. You need to listen to reggae. Head to the  , located at 603 Vanderbilt Ave, at 11 p.m. Enjoy featuring DJ Cicso & Gabriel spinning on the wheels of steel all night.

2. You need to play softball. Come out for and hop in a pick-up game. If you don't have a glove, we'll have one for you. Located in Mount Prospect Park, the park entrance on the right side of the Botancial Gardens. The games are open to all and begin at 1 p.m. and end at 5 p.m.

3. You need to tone up. Take advantage of ’s open house today from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. There will be free snacks and beverages to all who participate in leaning more about their workout classes. Located at189 Prospect Pl.

4. You need to take you kids out to hear stories. located in ’s Letterts House. The kiddos will be wowed by international stories told by musician and storyteller Tammy Hall. Starts the event is from 2 p.m. through 3 p.m.

5. You need to know if your train is running, and if you have to move your car. There will be no service changes this weekend, according to the MTA. As for moving your car, alternate side is not suspended again until the Feast of the Assumption on Monday, August 15, according to the NYC DOT.
