80 Affordable Apartments Up For Grabs In Vanderbilt Ave Tower
Those making as little as $48,000 per year can apply to live in the Brooklyn building, which sits near Clinton Hill and Prospect Heights.

BROOKLYN, NY — Dozens of apartments have hit the city's affordable housing lottery on Vanderbilt Avenue, records show.
The 80 studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom spots are up for grabs in a massive 29-story apartment tower found on the corner of Atlantic Avenue, according to the Department of Housing Preservation and Development listing.
A slate of units are available at the 70-percent, 80-percent and 130-percent area median income bracket, meaning tenants can make anywhere between $48,206 and $96,926 to apply. Combined income levels go as high as $215,150 if there are up to seven people planning to live in the largest apartments, records show.

For the cheapest apartments, applicants should make between $48,206 and $65,380 per year for a studio spot. The studio units are $1,320 per month.

The Vanderbilt Avenue building includes a pool, outdoor areas, security cameras and is pet-friendly, according to the listing.
It is among a long list of new apartment complexes that have recently been built near Atlantic Avenue, which is slated to be studied by city planners given rapid development advocates say is exacerbating displacement in the area.
The Vanderbilt Avenue complex is one of several in Brooklyn currently on the affordable housing lottery.
Other buildings include a Lenox Road complex, a massive development in Greenpoint, a Kent Avenue complex in Williamsburg, the Vital Brookdale complex in Brownsville and an East New York property known as Chestnut Commons.
