See What The City Considers 'Affordable' In Crown Heights

CROWN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — Homes deemed "affordable" by the city are up for grabs in Crown Heights – if you can afford more than $2,400-a-month in rent.

The one-bedroom apartments at 876 Bergen St. will be available through an housing lottery run by the Department of Housing Preservation and Development, according to city records.

The five apartments cost $2,415 per month and are available to households earning between $85,269 and $99,320 or 130 percent of the Area Median Income, city records show.

The eight-story building boasts an outdoor garden laundry room, rooftop lounge, bike storage and 24-hour security cameras and will be run by Wavecrest Management, in Ridgewood, according to the NYC Housing Connect website.

This is the third batch of "affordable" apartments to hit Brooklyn’s housing lottery in the past week; none of the 11 one-, two- and three-bedroom units cost less than $2,200 per month.
