'Affordable' Crown Heights Apartments Require $71K Minimum Salary

Five new apartments to hit the affordable housing lotto require applicants earn between $71,383 and $172,120, records show.

CROWN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — It will take a minimum $71,000 annual salary to apply for the latest batch of "affordable" Crown Heights apartments to hit the housing lotto, city records show.

Five apartments at 141 Utica Ave.near St. Marks Avenue became available Wednesday on the NYC Housing Connect website, but only to people who make 130 percent of the area median income, city records show.

One two-bedroom apartment costs $2,082 a month and is only available to couples earning between $71,383 and $111,020, three people earning up to $124,930, four people earning up to $138,710 and five earning up to $149,890 annually, city records show.

Four three-bedroom apartments that cost $2,200 a month are available only to households earning between $75,429 and $172,120 annually, according to city records.

The building includes a laundry room with coin operated machines.

Those who meet income requirements have until May 22 to apply on the NYC Housing Connectwebsite.
