'Affordable' One-Bedrooms Require $92K Salary In Brooklyn: HPD
The building, found at the Boerum Hill border, has a few apartments for those making $56,000, but almost all are at the higher income level.

BROOKLYN, NY — Dozens of apartments that have hit the city's "affordable housing" lottery on the Boerum Hill border will require a staggering $92,000 salary to apply, records show.
Nearly all of the 48 open units in 310 Livingston St. building, known as "The Guild," will go only to those making at least 130 percent of the area's median income.
For the 34 one-bedroom spots up for grabs, that means only those making between $92,195 and $108,680 per year can apply, according to the listing. The apartments will cost $2,689 per month in rent.

At the two-bedroom level, there are five units up for grabs at the high income level. Each of those, which cost $3,219 per month, will require between a $110,366 and $124,150 to apply.
The building also offers some units at an 80-percent median income rate, according to the listing.

For those, a one-bedroom will cost $1,542 per month and require a minimum $55,715 salary. Two two-bedroom units at that price point will cost $1,862 per month and require between a $67,578 and $76,400 salary.
Those who can afford the Livingston Street building will have no shortage of amenities, including a gym, yoga and dance studio, rooftop terrace, "party room" and even a speakeasy in the complex, according to the listing.
It is not the first time a Brooklyn building has required six figures, or near six figures, to apply for its "affordable" spots. Activists have long claimed that the city's affordable housing lottery fails at reaching New Yorkers who need it most.
The Guild joins several other Brooklyn buildings on the lottery, including in a new high-rise where an $86,000 salary is required. Salary requirements in all but one of the other buildings range from $50,000 to $65,000, records show.
