'Affordable' Weeksville Studio Costs $1,800-A-Month
A batch of 'affordable' housing hit the market this week, and New Yorkers only need a six-figure income to apply.

WEEKSVILLE, BROOKLYN — A $1,800-a-month studio apartment that sits on the border of Brownsville and can only be occupied by residents earning about $100,000 is “affordable,” according to the city.
A half-dozen apartments at 1764 Union St. hit the affordable housing lottery this week, but it’s going to take a serious paycheck to apply, city records show.
That studio apartment is only available to people with an annual income between $61,715 and $95,030 or couples who earn up to $108,550 annually, records show.

Three one-bedroom apartments that cost $2,050-per-month are only available to households bringing in an annual income between $70,386 and $122,070.
And only people earning between $85,715 and $146,510 annually are allowed to apply for two two-bedroom apartments going for $2,500-per-month.

Building amenities include a laundry room, but residents will need to pay an additional fee to access it.
