Dance Parties, Free Family Fun: Vanderbilt Open Street's July Line-Up
Organizers of the Prospect Heights' Open Street have revealed performances and events that will be held this month.

PROSPECT HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — Free dance lessons, an "infrastructure stroll" and no shortage of live music is on its way to Prospect Heights' most popular Open Street this month.
The organizers of the Vanderbilt Avenue Open Street — which closes traffic on warm-weather weekends between Atlantic Avenue and Park Place — have revealed their line-up of events for July.
The monthly line-up, which kicked off with a holiday celebration for July 4 weekend, will include a long list of family activities or musical performances, including the return of the popular Salsa Salsa Dance Studio's free classes, according to the schedule.

Saturday, July 8: Music from the Ryan Barry Quintet and Funkrust Brass Band
Sunday, July 9: Music from the Off The Bar Brass band
Sunday, July 17:
- Join the FDNY at 1pm for a fire safety education program including a fire engine for kids to tour!
- At 3pm, join a Street Infrastructure Stroll with Urban Planner/infrastructure geek Chris Whong.

- Salsa Salsa Dance Studio returns with a free class at 5pm, followed by a dance party!
- Music from the Andrew DeNicola Quartet and The Chimes
- Smokey Vale hosts Indigo station at 2pm for a clothes-dying demo -Kids should bring their own white shirts or bandanas to participate.At 5pm, they will host a lecture and discussion on Denim.
