If You Earn $135K You Can Apply For 'Affordable' Homes In PLG
New units in Prospect-Lefferts Garden hit the affordable housing lotto this week, but you'll need an above-average salary to apply.

PROSPECT-LEFFERTS GARDENS, BROOKLYN — Yet another batch of "affordable" apartments to hit the Brooklyn housing market this week are only available to people with higher than average incomes.
More than half of the 27 NYC Housing Connect apartments at 31-33 Lincoln Road cost about $2,700 a month and are available only to households earning between $93,000 and $135,000 a year.
These are not the first apartments to hit the affordable housing lottery this year that require high salaries— 33 percent of the 352 affordable units currently listed on the Brooklyn housing lottery require that applicants earn 130 percent of the area median income.

Affordable units in Bushwick, Crown Heights, Clinton Hill and Bushwick buildings required six-figure incomes to apply, even though city records show that about 55 percent of Brooklynites earn less than $60,000 a year.
Residents who do earn between $61,955 and $135,590 are welcome to apply for a studio, one-bedroom or two-bedroom apartment on Lincoln Road near Flatbush Avenue.
