Man Charged With Attempted Rape at Gunpoint Near Franklin Avenue
Suspect followed woman into her apartment but fled when she fought back.
A man was charged with trying to rape a 26-year-old woman at gunpoint in her apartment, according to a police report.
The woman told police that as she was walking into her apartment shortly after midnight when a man followed her inside before the door could slam shut. He pushed her into the bedroom and forced her to bend over the edge of the bed. Then the man pulled out a gun and took off the woman’s pants. The woman “made a ruckus” and the man fled, according to the report.
The 21-year-old man left behind his jacket and sweatshirt and was arrested at 10:30 p.m. the next day. The attack happened between 12:24 a.m. and 12:39 a.m. on April 2 in the Franklin Avenue area, according to the report.
