Shuffler had been shot just blocks from his home at 623 Sterling Pl.

According to the New York Daily News, Shuffler, an aspiring rapper, was walking down Lincoln Place with three friends when he was struck by a bullet in the right eye. The shot may have been fired in an unrelated gunfight, the Daily News reported.

Shuffler was taken to Methodist Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

The young man's aunt, Katrina Glover, described him to DNAinfo as a "loveable person" who had a 5-year-old daughter, a 1-year-old son and another baby on the way.

"He was a good guy, a good son, a good father," Glover told the news site. "It hurts. It hurts. It hurts. The link in our chain is broken. Marlon, you'll be missed."

A woman also identified as Shuffler's aunt said in an interview with the Daily News that her brother was killed on the same street corner in 2010.

“I’m tired of coming to Franklin Ave. and having everyone falling away,” she said. “I’m tired of burying my friends and family. It needs to stop.”
