The opening came four years after a hotly-debated deal between the city and developers BFC Partners to build the recreation center while converting part of the property into housing. The community center also includes 60,000 square feet of facilities, including competitive swimming pool, basketball courts and a multi-purpose areas.
Vendors interested in joining the farmer's market can email the Major Owens center at info@majorowenscenter.com.
