CROWN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — A new building is coming to Crown Heights, replacing a single-story Dean Street garage just steps from Washington Avenue, according to reports.

Permits for the new building at 796 Dean St. reveal that the new four-story building will include 12 residential units, manufacturing space and a small community space, according to New York Yimby.

The development website speculates that the total residential square footage hints that the units will most likely be rental apartments, which would average about 670 square feet each.

The site also says that because the project is classified as an expansion of an existing structure, the builder will most likely not need to file demolition permits.

In 2020, the building was sold to Queens Village-based Makha Real Estate Corporation for $1 million.
