Police Blotter: 'Deranged' Man Breaks into Park Place Home

'Deranged' Man Breaks into Park Place Home

An apparently deranged man broke into a Park Place home early in the  morning, broke a window and ran off, according to a police report.

A 38-year-old woman reports that a man who “appeared deranged,” was screaming and making incomprehensible noises in her back yard. Then he broke through the back door, still screaming, grabbed a telephone off of the TV stand, threw it through the window on the front door and ran out.

There were several calls to the 77th precinct that morning of an emotionally disturbed person, and an emotionally disturbed man was treated at Methodist Hospital to an for an injury to his left arm. The incident took place at 3:30 a.m. on July 12 on Park Place between Washington and Underhill, according to a police report.

 

Sterling Place Burglary

A 34-year-old man reported that someone broke into his apartment, damaging the front door and ransacking the bedroom, sometime between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m. on July 9.

An HP laptop worth about $500 was stolen from the apartment, located on Sterling Place between Butler and Underhill, according to a police report.

 

Bike Thefts Continue

 At least three more bike have been stolen in July, according to police reports:

- A 23-year-old woman reported that someone stole her $200 bicycle from her home on St. Johns Place between Classon and Frankin sometime between July 13 and 14. The report does not note whether or not the bike was locked.

- A 35-year-old woman reported that her Lemond road bike (tan with red markings) worth $800 was after she left it unlocked in the lobby of her building on St. Marks Avenue between Carlton and Vanderbilt on July 13 or 14. 

- A 21-year-old woman said a thief clipped the lock and made off with her bike, which had been attached to the gate at her building on Park Place between Vanderbilt and Carlton on July 11  between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
