Police Blotter: Lincoln Place Burglary and More Bike Thefts

Lincoln Place Burglary

A 58-year-old woman came home to discover that someone broke into her Lincoln Place apartment  and stole $3000 worth of property including  a Dell computer monitor, gold earrings and a gold necklace.

The theft took place at the apartment on Lincoln Place at Franklin Avenue sometime between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Thursday, August 2, according to a police report.


DWI Charge

A 35-year-old man was charged with driving while intoxicated after a cop pulled him over for driving “erratically,” according to a police report.

The cop pulled the 2000 Red Dodge Durango over at the corner of Franklin Avenue and St. Johns place at about 3 a.m. on Sunday, August 5.

The driver refused a breathalyzer test, but the officer said smelled like alcohol, had slurred speech and “watery, bloodshot eyes.” In addition, the license plate and the car registration did not match, according to the report.

Pot Arrest

Two men, aged 23 and 28, were charged with drug possession after a cop saw them with marijuana in public view on Lincoln Place between Underhill and Washington on Saturday, August 4 at about 9 p.m., according to a police report.


Two Bike Thefts

Two bike thefts took place within a few hours of each other, according to police reports:

- A 36-year-old man reported that someone broke into the vestibule of his building, damaging the front door, and stole his red and silver Trek mountain bike. The victim said he saw a man riding off with a bike that looked like his. The theft took place on Saturday, August 4 at 10:50 p.m. on Prospect Place between Carlton and Vanderbilt.


- A 28-year-old man reported that someone stole his black Trek, which was locked on Washington Avenue between Park and Sterling. The theft took place on August 5 between locked at 770 Washingoton Avenue on Sunday, August 5 between 1 a.m. and 10 a.m.
