Last Day to Vote for $175K in 'Smart Boards' at Public School 92
It's one of multiple projects Prospect-Lefferts Gardens residents can choose as part of the city's participatory budgeting process.

PROSPECT-LEFFERTS GARDENS, BROOKLYN — We’ve reached the end of 2016’s participatory budgeting vote week! Prospect-Lefferts Gardens residents only have until the evening of Sunday, April 3, to vote to direct city funds toward a variety of neighborhood projects.
The list of projects you’re eligible to vote for depends on who your City Council representative is. If you live in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens, you’re probably represented by 40th District Councilman Mathieu Eugene, but if you’re not sure who your council member is, just use this online tool to figure it out.

The voting locations and projects in Eugene's district are available on this website. Some of those particularly relevant to Prospect-Lefferts Gardens include:
- $175,000 to buy 29 interactive "smart boards" for the teachers and students of P.S. 92
- Between $100,000 and $300,000 for pedestrian safety improvements to extend the sidewalk at the intersection of Rogers Avenue and Winthrop Street by P.S. 92
- Between $200,000 and $300,000 for pedestrian safety improvements at the intersection of Rogers Avenue and Rutland Road by the Lefferts Gardens Montessori School
- Between $100,000 and $300,000 for pedestrian safety improvements at the intersection of Rogers Avenue and Lefferts Avenue, by Little Red Riding Hook Pre-K
- $35,000 for technology upgrades at M.S. 2 Parkside Academy
- $80,000 for new public BBQ grills at the intersections of East Drive and both Lincoln Road and Parkside Avenue, in Prospect Park's southeast section
You do not have to be a registered voter to participate, and anyone 14 and up can cast a ballot. Just bring your ID, a utility bill or some other form of documentation that states your address with you to the polls.
