1-Year-Old Baby Dies In Jamaica Fire On Mother's Day: Police

QUEENS — A 1-year-old boy from Jamaica died in a fire on Mother's Day, police said.

Jason Eli lost his life on Sunday after a blaze broke out inside his home located at 144-12 106th Ave. around 11 p.m., the NYPD said.

Firefighters found the 1-year-old unconscious on one of the top floors of the home and later took him to Long Island Jewish Cohens Children's Medical Center, where he died, authorities said.

The FDNY Fire Marshal will determine the cause of the fire, and the investigation remains ongoing, police said.
