QUEENS, NY -- Spring is in the air, and you better believe Queens is chock full of festivals to celebrate, rain or shine.

So get up out of your house this weekend and enjoy the warm - albeit rainy - weather, whether it's running a 5K through Flushing Meadows Park for the National Tourette Association or stuffing your face with multiethnic food at the Astoria Spring Festival.

The Artist Market On Linden

Neighborhood: Jamaica

What: Mingle, shop and eat at this artists' market filled with unique, handcrafted goods. You can place custom orders, have your clothes altered or sign up for classes while enjoying the art studio vibe.

I.S. 59Q Community Health, Education & Employment Resource Fair

Neighborhood: St. Albans

What: This event offers free food, music and mammograms - What more could you ask for? Free HIV/AIDS tests, blood pressure screenings and mental health information. RSVP here.

Where: Springfield Gardens Intermediate School 59, 132-55 Ridgedale St.

When: Saturday, May 19, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.


Mobile Pet Adoption Event

Neighborhood: Forest Hills

What: Come ready to adopt from a truck full of animals ready to go home the same day. Each has already been spayed or neutered, is up to date on vaccines and microchipped. Puppies are $150, dogs are $75, kittens are $75, and cats or rabbits are $50.

Where: Forest Park's Bandshell Parking Lot (near the Forest Park Carousal and Forest Park Drive)

Spring Fling Family Fun Day

Neighborhood: Jamaica

What: Enjoy live entertainment, music and free health screenings at this spring celebration. There will also be a "Kidz Fun Zone" complete with bounce castles, crafts and face painting.

'Little Activists Make A Big Difference: Women Who March'

Neighborhood: Long Island City

What: Bring your children to this afternoon of activism, where local author Adena Raub Dershowitz will launch her book, "Women Who March."

When: Saturday, May 19, 1:30 p.m.


Astoria Spring Festival

Neighborhood: Astoria

What: The Astoria Restoration Association's 40th annual Spring Festival, where you'll find an array of multicultural foods, amusement park rides, an entire stand dedicated to piña coladas and more.

Where: 31st Street between Ditmars Boulevard and 21st Avenue

When: Sunday, May 20, noon - 6 p.m.


2018 Tourette Association National Awareness 5K

Neighborhood: Flushing

What: Raise awareness and money for the Tourette Association of America by walking or running through Flushing Meadows Corona Park this weekend. Advanced registration costs $35 for the 5K and $30 to walk - or you can pay $40 at the door - and comes with a Team Tourette T-shirt. The best part? All racers get free admission to the Hall of Science, Queens Zoo and carousel after the event.

Bubble Party

Neighborhood: Forest Hills

What: Celebrate spring's warm weather by making giant bubbles, bubble wants, bubble paintings, bubble snakes and more at Yellowstone Park Alliance's - you guessed it - bubble party.

When: Sunday, May 20, 3 - 5 p.m.


Forest Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps Blood Drive

Neighborhood: Forest Hills

What: In honor of national EMS week, the Forest Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps is hosting a blood drive, and your donation can save up to three lives. Donors must be at least 16 years old, bring an ID with a signature or photo, weigh at least 110 pounds and not have gotten any tattoos in the past year.

Where: Forest Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps, 92-29 Metropolitan Ave.

When: Sunday, May 20, noon - 6 p.m.
