Supporters tout jobs and revenue, while local critics warn of more congestion, pollution, and flooding risks as the state moves the projects forward.

2. Man found with multiple stab wounds at Queens subway station, police say (pix11.com) — A 40-year-old man was stabbed multiple times on the Steinway Street subway platform in Queens early Saturday morning and is expected to survive after being rushed to a local hospital. Remains of woman found along Queens highway ID'd by family, but identity of killer still a mystery (nydailynews.com) — Family members have identified the woman whose dismembered remains were found in a bag off the Jackie Robinson Parkway in Queens, but her killer and the circumstances of her death remain unknown. Relatives describe 27-year-old Christina Purdie’s struggles and efforts to rebuild her life, and say the lack of answers about who killed her leaves them frightened and without closure.

4. Today in History: Sandra Cisneros turns 71 (chicagotribune.com) — A national “today in history” roundup briefly revisits the 1986 Howard Beach attack in Queens, when three Black men were assaulted by white youths and one died, a case that deeply shook the borough. It appears alongside milestones from the Louisiana Purchase to the founding of the U.S. Space Force and Sandra Cisneros’ 71st birthday.

5. Chuck Park is focused on protecting immigrant families in his run for Congress (cityandstateny.com) — A Jackson Heights native and former State Department official, Chuck Park is mounting a left-wing primary challenge to Rep.
