Brooklyn Man Pleads Guilty After Fatally Attacking Asian Woman: DA
Elisaul Perez pleaded guilty to manslaughter after attacking Guiying Ma, 61, with a rock outside of her home in Corona, prosecutors said.

QUEENS — A man from Brooklyn pleaded guilty to the killing of a 61-year-old Asian woman in Corona after he attacked her with a rock, the Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz said Thursday.
Elisaul Perez, 33, pleaded guilty to manslaughter after attacking Guiying Ma, 61, with a rock outside of her home in Corona on Nov. 26, 2021, causing her death three months later from the injuries, prosecutors said.
Perez is expected to be sentenced 20 years in prison when he returns to court in January, Katz said.

Last year, Ma was sweeping the sidewalk in front of 38th Avenue, near 97th Street, about 8 a.m. before Perez struck her in the head with a large rock, the district attorney said.
Ma fell to the ground, Perez struck her a second time, and she was taken to the hospital, where she underwent emergency surgery and she stayed for three months before she died from complications from her injuries, prosecutors said.
