Brooklyn Man Who Raped Woman In Maspeth Arrested: NYPD

Tony Kempsey, a 58-year-old man from Gowanus, was charged with the rape of a 49-year-old woman in Maspeth, the NYPD said.

QUEENS — A Brooklyn man accused of raping a 49-year-old woman in Maspeth was arrested Thursday, the NYPD said.

Tony Kempsey, 58, faces charges that he sexually assaulted a woman who climbed onto the back of his scooter on April 30 about 5 a.m., cops said.

The woman had been walking home from work, police said.

The Gowanus man punched the woman in the face shortly after arriving at 48th Avenue, near 72nd Street, authorities said.

The woman was knocked out and fell to the ground, at which point he raped her, police said.

When the woman regained consciousness, Kempsey fled on the scooter, police said.

The 49-year-old was taken to NYC Health and Hospital/ Elmhurst in stable condition, the NYPD said.
