QUEENS, NY — The decomposing body of a man was found near the shoreline of a Queens park on Sunday, according to a report and emergency personnel.

A man's body was discovered by a parkgoer around 8:40 a.m. near a marshy area of Spring Creek Park in Howard Beach, officials said.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Authorities have yet to confirm the man’s identity, and the city’s Medical Examiner is working to determine the cause of death. Police said there were no obvious signs of injury, and they do not currently suspect foul play.

In an unrelated incident later that day, the body of a 52-year-old man was found aboard a boat in Queens. Police said officers responded around 2:46 p.m. to a call about an unresponsive person on a docked vessel near Railroad and Greenpoint Avenues.

The man, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
